Mastery Insights

1. Verdant Brink Insight: Heartless Pass

From Shipwreck Peak waypoint, jump and glide off the clide due west and fly over to the protruding thorns. Rest to recover endurance, then glide north towards the insight.

Mastery req: Basic Gliding

2. Verdant Brink Insight: Creeping Crevasse

From Shipwreck Peak waypoint, jump and glide off the cliff. You want to keep dropping down and head west. The Mastery point is close to the Hero Point but above it on the stone roof.

3. Verdant Brink Insight: Creaking Cavern

Head east from Faren’s Flyer Waypoint and head towards Hidden Corpse. Once you are in the cave, you will need to use the bouncing mushrooms to get up to where the Mastery Insight is.

4. Verdant Brink Insight: Outside Noble Ledges

From Faren’s Flyer waypoint, travel counter-clockwise up the winding path until you see a large horizontal vine veering off into the distance about halfway up the path. Jump onto the vine and head northeast to reach the insight.

Masteries req: None

5. Verdant Brink Insight: Fumerol Caves

From Jaka Itzel waypoint, head west and into the mushrom cave. The Mastery insight location is near a patch of poisonous vine. You can glide to the mastery insight safely without touching the toxic vines.

Mastery req: Basic Gliding

6. Verdant Brink Insight: The Corpse Grove

From Mellaggan’s Valor Waypoint, head north towards Blighted Depths. One of the roots structure has a fake bottom and you can drop down. You want to open your glider immediately as soon as you start dropping or you may just barely miss the mastery insight point. Having Updraft will help but not necessary.

Mastery req: Basic Gliding, Updraft helps but not required.

7. Verdant Brink Insight: Thistlevine Ravine

Go up the big vine right next to the Pact Encampment Waypoint, very easy to reach

Masteries req: None

8. Verdant Brink Insight: Holdfast Hollow

At night, take a chopper up from the Pact Encampment Waypoint (choppers spawn when there is 20 minutes left on night). Fly to the Legendary Wyvern’s island, run across, then glide north towards a far-off updraft. When you hit that updraft, turn east immediately, and land on some debris to regain endurance. In the same direction, glide towards another updraft, which should throw you high enough in the sky to land on the airship to the west, where the insight point is located.

Masteries req: Updraft

9. Verdant Brink Insight: Canopy Over Pact Encampment

This is actually the hardest Mastery Insight to reach since getting it require you to complete a jumping puzzle inside a destroyed airship. You will need bouncing mushrooms to reach this jumping puzzle (you can get it with updraft too by using the updrafts from Holdfast Hollow Insight).

Mastery req: Bouncing Mushrooms or Updraft

You want to start at Shrouded Ruins Waypoint and climb up to Dust Dancer Plateau. There is a bouncing mushroom there that will take you to a giant horizontal vine branch you can climb up to get to another plateau. The final plateau has a bouncing mushroom that will take you all the way to the jumping puzzle entrance. You want to be out of combat when you jump on this bouncing mushroom as otherwise in combat or lag can cause you to fail to reach the jumping puzzle entrance.

The jumping puzzle isn’t very difficult but a lot of involves walking on narrow beams and doing a couple of corner jumps where you have to doing a turn mid-air. Having a mesmer will definitely help as you can drop portal on the tricky spots. The video below shows you some spots I dropped portal at for backup incase I don’t make the jump.–

Strongboxes

Lethal Vantage Strongbox

Head out from Shipwreck Peak Waypoint and keep gliding down. The strongbox is in an island above the mastery/hero point so you don’t have to drop down too far.

Mastery req: Basic Gliding

Mellagan’s Valor Strongbox

Go west from Mellagan’s Valor waypoint and jump on the bouncing mushroom to the west. This will bounce you up to a second island. Follow the route south west and you will find another bouncing mushroom that will take you up the strongbox.

Mastery req: Bouncing Mushrooms

Faren’s Flyer Strongbox

Go east from Mellagan’s Valor waypoint and hop on an updraft.

Immediately do a 180 deg turn so you can get to the updraft on top of the broken ship. This will allow you to land on top of the destroyed fleet. Keep running west on the fleet and you will be able to glide to the strongbox located on a floating platform.

Glory of Tyria Strongbox

From Faren’s Flyer waypoint, travel up the winding path onto the thorned branch. Look south and glide towards the strongbox.

Mastery req: Basic Gliding

Thunderbreaker Strongbox

From Faren’s Flyer waypoint, travel counter-clockwise up the winding path to the top. Glide from the northwest edge down to the strongbox.

Hi Dulfy. Would you know where else we can get Tyria mastery Points (Red) aside from the ones in the achievements (complete all acheivements in a story to get 1 point)?

  They are bound to achievements, but to a lot of achievments. You will get all the mastery points for full tyria before you completed even half of the achievs 😛

Myth

For anyone having difficulty with Canopy over Pact Encampment Insight. Here is a cheeky little skip that may or may not work all the time.

You do have to get inside the jumping puzzle still, but once you are someways inside switch instances and chances are the game will graciously plant you right in front of the mastery point at the top. I don’t know how reliable this is but I am guessing the surfaces inside the airship are generally too small for the game to place you on when re-entering the instance so that the highest point rule kicks in. Personally I was on top of the first gear in the puzzle when I got the popup for empty map.

  This still works as of 10/02/2016. I tested it a bit and the bar at 09:56 of the video seems to be the lowest point at which it works. Just stand on that bar as close to the wall next to the gear as you can. You can go to the character creation screen and reload your character, or use a method of changing instances. Both work.

Thank you Myth! As of 2015/12/30 this still works. I went in until I had to jump across from one long bar to the other, stopped near a gear and changed instances. I was pleasantly surprised to come back right next to the mastery! \^_\^

Dulfy, for the Canopy over Pact Encampment Mastery Insight, I found an alternate route that may be easier. At least it cuts off half the trek through the shipwreck jumping puzzle. You will need the Updraft Use and Bouncing Mushroom masteries to do this.\ First, get to the Verdant Brink dive goggles. You can do thus by chopper at night like you recommended, or by following the normal route you take to this Mastery Point.\ For the latter, follow the same route up from Shrouded Ruins Waypoint to the start of the shipwreck jumping puzzle. From that spot, you can get to the bouncing mushroom that throws you to the diving goggles. I recommend climbing the beam into the airship, jumping from it and gliding to the mushroom.\ West from the diving goggles, locate a nearby updraft. Glide to it to get extra altitude. Then turn towards the shipwreck jumping puzzle with the mastery insight. You’ll need to aim for the spot indicated in the photo below.\ From that spot, jump-glide into the shipwreck. It’s not too hard. You should land at the spot shown at 10:47 of your video, skipping a lot of tricky jumps in the puzzle.

This guide was useful again to find the Holdfast Hollow insight that serves as an electrum infusion point for the Aurora II collection. The in-game map and clues had me looking in completely the wrong place—Dulfy to the rescue!
