Meta Achievement

The meta achievement for this episode will grant you 28 AP in total but requirements the completion of 38 achievements. You get a Corsair Jerkin as an armor piece for the reward in addition to the AP.

Story Achievements

Seized

Loquacious Orator – 1 AP

For this achievement you have to go through the trial dialogue multiple times and pick each option to fulfill the achievement. This may take a few more runs of the instance. Luckily you can just relog after finishing the trial to try again.

Requirements

Ask to speak (If it pleases the court, I’ll speak)
Defend your friend’s honor (This ‘creature is an associate of mine)
Find an error in the court’s process (Your Honor, did you have Gorrik examined?)
Explain the circumstances (Your Honor, Gorrik is working to PREVENT an outbreak)
Call out racial bias (‘”Look at him”? What’s that suppose to mean?)
Ask for proof (So you admit you have no medical proof that he’s infected or contagious)
Tell the truth (Its’s the Scarab Plague)
Ask for the councilor’s trust (I can’t say any more, Your Honor)

Squish, Squish

Require you to have completed the final instance Be My Guest first
Kill all the Scarabs in 30 seconds or less. The Scarab phase is right after Faren meets the guests from the ship. Make sure you are on a mount and you should have no trouble finishing it in 30 seconds.

Stay Asleep, Sheep

Require you to have completed the final instance Be My Guest first
Keep Istari the Inexorable from Awakening your allies. During the fight with him from 100% to 50%, he may have a small breakbar if you don’t damage him quick enough. If this happens, break his breakbar ASAP to prevent him from awakening your allies.

Forearmed is Forewarned

Decimation – 1 AP

Kill 6 Awakened with a single bomb blast. Pretty easy to do as Canach actually does it for you when he throw bombs around.

Glory Hog – 1 AP

Plant seeds at all the locations before Canach has a chance to help. Canach plant at exactly three locations in sequential order . Go to these locations and plant the seeds before Canach and you should get the achievement pretty easily.

Silent but Deadly – 3 AP

Never raise suspicion to the point that champions are deployed again you. Generally pretty easy to get. Just don’t get close to the champions inside the instance and you should get this achievement easily. If you get detected by anything, remember to use #1 skill to stop stun them and then #2 if necessary to kill.

Trip the Quantum Fantastic – 1 AP

Disorient 25 Awakened with the Quantum Mass Displacement Matrix. To do this you will need to use the #4 skill in rapid succession. Basically you want to run right in front of an awakened mob (make sure he detects you so move around a bit) and then immediately to his behind when he detects you. As soon as he turns to face you, immediately teleport to his behind again while staying as close to the Awakened as possible. Repeat as long your heat level allows; after a few teleports, the awakened will get disoriented and you will get the achievement pop up. You don’t have to do it to 25 different Awakened and can just pick the same one to do it over and over.

A quicker way to do this is at the end during portal defense with multiple waves of Awakening attacking. You can pick a group of Awakened and spam the teleport in the middle of them to disorient multiple Awakened at once.

Be My Guest

Captive Audience – 1 AP

Listen to all of Joko’s taunts. To get this achievement,.you need to get hit by every laser trap in the Moon Fortress. Joko says a taunt each time you get hit by a laser. Use the signet ring to reveal the laser traps so you can be sure you get hit by every single one of them. This one is mutually exclusive with Dexterous and Flexible so you will need to do the instance twice.

Dexterous and Flexible – 3 AP

Avoid every laser trap in the Moon Fortress. The best way to do this seems to be using a mesmer or thief with blink/shadowstep/jaunt. Make sure you use the signet ring to reveal the laser traps and then just use their blinks to get through. Beware of the four lasers in the room when you are fighting Beastmarshal as those still counts and if you get hit by those you fail the achievement as well.

Whistling in the Dark – 1 AP

Successfully defend Canach while he arms the bomb in under six minutes. This one is pretty easy to get. The timer starts only when Canach goes to the door and arm the bomb. You have plenty of time to defeat the Awakened waves before they reach Canach. There is a champion that spawns at the end of the waves.

Roller Beetle Mount Collections

There are four achievements for the Roller Beetle mount collection/unlock. You can read the full guide here .

Beetle Juice – 3 AP

Beetle Feed – 5 AP, 1 Mastery Insight

Banner of the Dauntless Commander Achievements

The following achievements are relayed to the Banner of Dauntless Commander which require several achievements/collections to craft. To start the achievements in this series you will need to talk to Lady Camilla in the Allied Encampments.

Banner of the Commander is an exotic backpiece while the Banner of the Dauntless Commander is an Ascended backpiece.

Tyrian Service Medal – 1 AP

For this achievement you have to do some of the world bosses in Tyria and then do the Temple events in Orr

- Shadow Behemoth (Queensdale)
- Fire Elemental (Metrica)
- Shatterer (Blazeridge)
- Great Jungle Wurm (Caledeon)
- Tequatl the Sunless (Sparkfly)
- Golem Mark II (Maelstrom)
- Claw of Jormag (Frostgorge)
Orr temple events (For most temple events, only killing the Risen Priest during either capture or defend counts for this achievement and other events in the meta do not with the exception of the Balthazar event).
- Cathedral of Glorious Victory (Balthazar – Straits of Devastation) – The capture of Altar of Betrayal triggers the achievement.
- Cathedral of Eternal Radiance (Lyssa – Malchor’s Leap)
- Cathedral of Zephyrs (Dwayna – Malchor’s Leap)
- Cathedral of Verdance (Melandru – Cursed Shore)
- Cathedral of Silence (Grenth – Cursed Shore)

The Gandaran Service Medal – 1 AP

Cannoneer’s Service Mark

Shut down Inquest cannons in Kourna.The event that grant the item for this collection is not the Reprogram cannon event during the meta. Rather, occasionally the cannons would have an event to Disabled the Awakened cannon before it can fire. Complete that for the item. You can probably just stand and wait at each of the cannons you need until the event pops up.

Cannoneer’s Distinction

Cannoneer’s Ribbon

Slayer’s Medallion

Kill the Awakened abomination in Kourna. This is an event that occurs near the Gandara Main Approach POI. You will need to kill the Champion Awakened Abomination.

Golemneer’s Certification

Reprogram a golem in Kourna. You will find Research Maggin south of Allied Encampment a bit past the thorn wall. He will ask you for help with an escort event. Escort him and his golem and then fight the Plague Golem at the end for the item.

Defender’s Mark

Defender the thorn mark wall against the Awakened attackers in Kourna. These are events of Awakened attacking the Thorn wall. For this item you will need to make sure the Awakened attackers don’t destroy the wall.

Naturalist’s Crest

Regrow the thorn wall in Kourna. For this item, the previous event to fail and the thorn wall needs to be destroyed. This will trigger the subsequent event to repair the wall.

Caravaner’s Recognition

Defend the caravan from the loyalist attackers in Kourma. This event starts from the Allied Encampment and goes to the Arkjok Farmlands.

Inventor’s Merit

Help test an asuran “Rez-o-Matic” golem in Kourna. Event starts in Allied Encampment. Look for Researcher Siris. Escort him to test his Rez-o-Matic device and defeat the Veteran creature at the end of the escort for the achievement.

Banner Ornament

Complete the last instance Be My Guest for the item.

Valor Beyond Valor – 1 AP

You will need to complete the Gandaran Service Medal and Tyrian Service Medal from above for this achievement.

More Than a Hero– 5 AP

Craft Banner of the Commander. The recipe to craft this is automatically learned (500 Tailor, Leatherwork, Armorsmith) when you talk to Lady Camilla. However to craft it you will need the following ingredients purchased from Lady Camilla

Lacquered Banner Pole – 100 Inscribed Shards and Vial of Awakening Blood from Rude Awakening achievement (kill enough Awakened until you collect 25 Awakened Blood)
Banner Pennon – Recipe costs 100 Inscribed Shards to purchase.

More Than a Hero, a Symbol – 5 AP, Dauntless title

Craft Banner of the Dauntless Commander. This probably requires the Heroic Banner Ornament from the Valor Beyond Valor achievement to complete. It also requires another piece from the vendor that costs 500 Inscribed Shards.

Map Achievements

General Map Achievements

Rude Awakening – 3 AP

Kill enough Awakened until you have 25 of their blood.

Pond Scum – 1 AP

For this you need to kill the Legendary Crazed Broodmother at Ntouka Pond. You can enter the pond area via the sand portal at the marked location.

Still Waters Run Deep – 2 AP

Delve to the deepest point of Ntouka Pond. Basically just swim to the Mastery Insight location and you will receive this achievement.

Dances with Cacti – 1 AP

There is an event that starts periodically at Idol of the Choya POI. You need to talk to Researcher Tebb to start the event and wait until he transform you into a choya. Join the dance initially as choya and then leave the choya form, climb to the rock in the middle and then do /dance to get the achievement.

Debbie’s Cakes – 2 AP

You need to do this heart correctly to get cakes from Debbie. When you use the torch to burn the crops, only burn the diseased crops and not the regular crops. Turn off auto-attack so you don’t accidentally swing the torch and burn the good crops. If done correctly, you will be able to purchase cakes from Clan Marshal the heart vendor by Arkjok Farmlands after you complete the daily heart. You need to do this heart correctly 4 times for the achievement and the cake can be bought on multiple characters. If burning infected crops it is too tedious you can try mix in some rat meat to progress the heart. Beware that for each good crop you burn the number of cakes you get decreases with a maximum of 3 cake per character per day.

I can See My House – 1 AP

Go to the mountain with the Griffon Master Course and then mount on your Roller Beetle mount. You may have to do this a couple times for the achievement to trigger.

Taking All Their Secrets – 3 AP

You basically need to do the Containing the Scarab Plague meta 10 times and loot the chests each time. To loot the chest you will need to consume the Access Card from killing the Champion Inquest that spawns after the Plague Golem. He only spawns with 10% HP left so you will need to get some hits in or you won’t get the access card. This will give you a 10 min buff. With this buff, enter one of the rooms with red terminals marked on the map below and you will be teleported to inside the chest room. You can also get a mesmer to port you in if you don’t have an access card.

Thing That Wouldn’t Leave – 1 AP

Overstay your welcome in the Awakened Inquest Plague research lab. Inside Research Vault Alpha, which you can access by pressing a panel from the outside (above and outside the Hollows on the same level of the POI), if you do the event to clear the Inquest Lab then stay in the lab after, wait for about a minute and you will be kicked out and granted the achievement.

If you cannot access Research Vault Alpha for some reason, you can try Research Vault Beta POI which is opened by the event Helping Researcher Emm track the origin point of the mutated rats and stay inside after the event.

( Hidden) Crab Kicking – 1 AP

This is a hidden achievement by Corsair Landing. You can go near one of the Surly Crabs and then use the prompt Kick to kick one of the crabs near an Awakened. This will cause the crab to attack the awakened and reward you with this achievement.

FTT 100 Achievements

FTT 100 Intro to Field Tech Turret Dynamics – 1 AP

Talk to Krew Leader Drazz at Allied Encampement and he will tell you about the turret right next to him. This will allow you to interact with the turret, completing this achievement and unlocking others in the series.

FTT 101-107 Core Turret Dynamics – 3 AP

This is more of a farming achievement. You will need to slaughter Awakened Inquest by the masses in Kourna until you collect all of the scraps in the collection as they are random drops off them. Once you completed the collection or parts of the collection for a specific type of turret, you can go back to Krew Leader Drazz and learn all types of field turrets. This will allow you to recconfigure the Inquest turrets to different types to fulfill the other FTT achievements.

Mastery Insights & Races

Mastery Insights

Allied Encampment Mastery Insight

Pretty straight forward. Just hop to the top of the tower with your springer.

Bokoss Prison Ruins Mastery Insight

This Mastery Insight requires the Tier 2 Roller Beetle ability to break through walls to reach.

Dabiji Hollows Mastery Insight

This one is slightly tricky. You enter the tunnels through the eastern side and then look for some easy rocks you can hop on with your springer. As you progress higher, you will find a narrow passage you can’t get through by normal means. What you need to do here is to swap to a thinner mount (i.e. jackal) and use the dismount boost to boost you over the ledge past the narrow passage.

Dunlon Springs Mastery Insight

Another straightforward Mastery Insight. Just springer hop your way and then drop down to the springs for this insight.

Ntouka Pond Mastery Insight

Use the jackal portal at the location pointed by the arrow on the map below to get into the Pond area and then swim down to reach the Mastery Insight at the very bottom.

Races

Roller Beetle Training – 2 AP

This map has the new Roller Beetle racing which rewards 2 AP for reaching the silver and gold ranks. Use spacebar to boost (remember your endurance recharges after passing through each checkpoint) and then use Mount ability 2 (I bound mine to V) to drift around tight corners.

Griffon Expert – 2 AP

Griffon Expert is a short course with some tight turns but rather easy to get gold once you know the route.

Griffon Master – 2 AP

Trip the Quantum Fantastic – hint/tip save this achievement for when u get to the part of the story where you have to secure the area around the rift. Awaken will try to take circle in big groups. While they are grouped up zip around them with skill 4 – Stunning the whole group. Making this achievement quick and fast.

Hey Dulfy, for the Tyrian Service Medal, Orr events, the results have not been consistent. We failed Temple of Balth (lost all morale and failed the event) and all got credited for the achieve. But while at Melandru, Priest spawned at Cathedral of Verdance (Melandru – Cursed Shore) and we successfully defended yet none of the 50 there of us got credit for the collection. We aren’t sure if it is RNG or specific quests but ppl are not getting credit for the achieve as listed. 🙁

For Dabiji Hollows Mastery Insight you can also climb up on the vinewall to the south of the mastery point and use the griffon swoop and flap combo, fly into the cave and quickly pull up to reach the mastery.

You can farm spare parts inside Forearmed is Forewarned by using skill 5 on turrets, it’s waaay faster than farming mobs.

for the ‘captive audience’ I don’t think that tripping on all lasers is enough. I think the achievement is awarded after you exhaust all of joko’s dialogues for tripping the lazers, the fire traps & ice traps. (went into the instance tripping every lazer, didn’t get the achievement, but next time i made sure to exhaust every dialogue for the fire & ice traps along with tripping every lazer just in case – got the achievement then)

For the “Dunlon Springs Mastery Insight” journey, there is a simpler way. At the level of the Elon Basin is a tunnel which allows to reach just by swimming the mastery.

Honestly the map has ZERO beetle mount races unlike all the other maps but has several beetle timed trials(which aren’t races) or adventures if you wanna call em that. I think it would have been fun to race against your fellow player and watch them all uncontrolably veer off course. 😀

For the “Whistling in the Dark” achievement, everything seemed to be going fine, then the champ appeared and Canach just stopped working and joined the fight. Lost the achievement after that.

The FTT 100 series achievements to build each basic turret 10 times, you can use the first one you get from Drazz and quickly switch between all the turret types, I was able to get it done in 2 FTT 100 units.\ For the upgrading you can do the same thing you just need 40 spare parts for each achievement (8 upgrades),\ For Exaple: Build basic direct damage > upgrade stage 2, Switch to Basic Aoe Damage > Upgrade Stage 2, then either go to the third turret type or back to the first (direct damage).\ Doing so I was able to get 2 types 8 times on one turret before it died though i needed 85 spare parts, 5 for the turret then 40 to switch each turret type.

  I think the guide is wrong for this achivement.\ When buying the cake it states that you can buy it only 1 time per day per account. So you can’t do this with multiple characters.

    If you burn only the corrupted crops, you will get 3 cakes (per day, per character). If you burn some healthy ones, you only get 1.

To add to the Captive Audience achievement, the fire and freeze traps also trigger dialogues and not ALL lasers have to be triggered. Basically, when you come up to a boobytrapped hallway, let yourself get hit as many times it takes for Joko to run out of dialogue options. But also make sure you don’t end any prematurely (i.e., by triggering a new dialog). Only once he has run out, you may continue.

PPl linked the ascended backpiece yesterday morning, 3 days into the new content. How in the hell does one get 700 shards that quick?

    Yep, I’d say that how they did it. They stockpiled a bunch of PvP/WvW potions, then just drank them all after they unlocked the reward track to complete it multiple times in quick succession.

For Trip the Quantum Fantastic, as long as you’re within melee-ish range of an enemy, you can teleport 4 times in quick succession in the same spot and it’ll stun them. They don’t have to be facing you and you don’t have to be detected, you just have to be close enough. You can get the achievement faster if you do get detected a couple times and let them spawn some adds for you to stun since they’ll all be clumped up together and you stun everyone in range when you do the 4 teleports.

So the medal is for the same event 3 times? Pretty obvious there was supposed to be more to the Kourna meta and they pasted over quickly to shove the episode out.

Update for the Captive Audience achievement – You don’t need to hit every single laser trap – you just have to trigger every laser trap dialogue until he points out you have a signet ring, do the math(s) – which can be done in the first laser corridor. Additionally, you need to trigger three separate dialogues (each) from the Fire and Ice traps, which can easily be done in the hall with both fire/ice and laser traps just before the 2 pups. Then the achievement will trigger when you kill the two pups.

Just got the Naturalist’s Crest on the thorn wall defense event. I guess you don’t need this event to fail anymore to get the crest.

You can now get the Naturalist’s Crest from the wall defense events. 🙂 There are also several places along the wall where the event spawns, not just the area shown in the guide so run up and down until you find one!

Trip the Quantum Fantastic – You are not suppose to jump around him to make him confused . But using that skill right on top of him will make him dizzy. It’s not you around him but the effect of that skill . Just spam skill 4 on him and you will be fine.Single one of the Awakened from the rest of his group. The best place for it is where they are not moving much. And then enjoy minutes of spaming Skill 4 😉

  i just have done it right at the front door of gandara, there is a whole army of awakened and if you port around until you left 1 port inside thier pizza´s you confuse a lot more of them in 1 time 🙂

Anyone know if dying to the burn/chill traps disqualifies you from Dexterous and Flexible? Let’s say you don’t ever trip a laser trap the whole time but the fire and/or ice trap kills you.

Finally got Dexterous and Flexible.\ NO, getting downed, dying, and restarting from a checkpoint will NOT disqualify you from that achievement.

For Dabiji Hollows Mastery Insight, I couldn’t get Dulfy’s method with a jackal to work. I figured out how to do it with just a springer. Before that last jump with a jackal, above you is a crack. Back up a bit and use springer to jump up and get stuck in that crack. Then dismount and glide through the gap. Takes a little experimentation but I showed a dozen people how, everyone got it within a few tries.

The Glody Hog Achievement has been changed from what your map shows (The entire eastern side of the map has been blocked off cause people used it to farm Spare parts)

To do Glory Hog, there are 4 seeds you need to plant, 2 before Canach, and another 2 which are marked on your map. The 2 seeds which you need to plant before Canach are both around point (1) on the map this guide offers. The first one is right on the point, on the hills and the second one is in the water trench just below, to the east. Hope this helps anyone.
